Search Engine Google Targets Government Contract |
|

|
Search engine leader Google has now set it's sites on
Government business in it's expansion quest. With the
hiring of two senior figures with the right inside
knowledge and contacts, the world leader in search has
left nobody in any doubt about the seriousness of it's
intentions.
Dan Senor comes on board as vice president of global
communications and strategy, whilst Alan Davidson
joins from the Center for Democracy & Technology.
Senor has been a senior aide to Paul Bremner, the
interim administrator in Iraq and he has a serious
track-record in working with the Bush Administration.
The company is looking to hire a Washington-based
manager of sales to Defense Department agencies too
and and has met with at least one area tech company to
discuss joint federal work.
With Federal and State Governments putting ever
greater volumes of information on line, Google see
this as a wide open market for it's technology -
there's also a hint that they may try to sell the
technology to the new elected government in Iraq.
Federal agencies like defense and intelligent are also
making more information available - more grist to
Google's profit generating mill.
