Another new search engine, which offers local search service, will soon boost to
the Internet market industry.
AOL LLC had started to test it new local search service engine, which finally
adds up to the many competitors in the Internet industry for years.
According to AOL LLC if the internet users are interested and
curious on giving a service test drive all they have to do is try to look at the
main page of the AOL’s main portal page and there they will find a local tab in
the search box. Then just click that on, and that tab will take the online users
into the local search interface on AOL Search.
Some of the services of
AOL Local are giving information’s to users on businesses listings from a
specific area, which includes the addresses, contact numbers, state, city etc.,
and it will even provide a map for easy access.
AOL Local is not yet sure
if they will be rendering services like Yellow Pages and City Guide. At the
meantime they do have “powered a Mapquest” tag in their logo, which points out
that the maps came from its sister AOL property.
According to Kelsey
Group Inc., a researcher in the market industry said that local search engine
are very important nowadays and in the coming years for Internet users are
rapidly increasing
